Talsu Bio-Energija was founded on August 9th of 1994 as a district heating service provider for Talsi and its region. With the development of new technologies and changes in energy prices Talsu Bio-Energija was one of the first companies nationwide that installed a modern wood heating system. It allowed to deliver heat to many consumers in Talsu community for a reasonable price, due to the fact that the price of fossil fuels like coal, natural gas and some other diesel products was significantly increasing. Ever since 1999, Talsu Bio-Energija has been using only renewable energy as a source of heat. We only use timber bought from the regional business which allows us to buy it at a steady price, as a result of that, each heat season can start with relatively constant pricing models. In 2008, the boiler house located in Talsi, A.Pumura iela, was actually the first one in the country to install a flue gas condenser which provides higher efficiency and preliminary cleaning of the flue gases, also allowing forest waste to be used in process of generating heat. Aside from district heating services, our company has expanded and acquired experience in residential heating, like central heat systems. We also design, install, and service water treatment systems, sewer waste systems and even ventilation systems. In 2009, Talsu Bio-Energija introduced and added solar systems to its services. Since then, our employees have gone through extensive training in Germany, acquiring solid experience from industry experts of the leading renewable energy country in European Union.
